If I had a secret....

I try to be a fairly open person. I don't always succeed. I mean what I say, which is not to say that I am mean when I say it. I respect honesty. It's really difficult for me to lie. Really, really difficult. I may obfuscate, misdirect and evade answering directly but I don't lie.

Which brings me to secrets...which are frequently covered by lies.

So, if I had a secret, I couldn't tell you what it was because then it wouldn't be a secret anymore.

And I hate lying so you know it would be true.

*snicker* I'm not good a lies either or manipulation. I suck actually- my face betrays everything:)

Moonsanity--There is something so inherently distasteful about lying to me, I don't know why. I've tried to psycho-analyze myself to figure out if I had some deep betrayal in my past, but honestly...nothing comes to mind. :)

OTOH, I excel at keeping other people's secrets. :)

I don't seem to be able to lie about anything important (my face is an open book) but if it's a GAME, then I don't have any of the tells that show I'm lying. So clearly it's all in my head!

I'm even terrible at having a "game face" but my husband says he can't tell what's going on because I never have a strategy (like in card games). I just make decisions that second, no planning involved. Probably why I hate games where you have to bid or trump. Honest is just best for me. LOL

Isn't every fiction writer a liar? That stuff didn't really happen, right?

LOL Kaye--that's different. It's probably why I like writing fiction so much. I can make up whatever I want with impunity. :) I also tend to explore situations where characters are forced to lie in some manner.
